Signs your convertible top needs attention
A convertible top lives outdoors in every season: summer sun, winter cold, rain, snow and road salt. Even a well-kept top wears out eventually. - Rips or tears, particularly along folds where the top bends every time it goes up and down
- Water getting into the cabin, or damp carpet after rain
- Faded, chalky or stiff material that has been worn down by the sun
- Worn stitching or seams that are starting to open
- A top that no longer fits snugly or no longer seals against the frame
Repair or replacement?
A small tear or an isolated seam problem can often be repaired. When the material has aged across the whole top, or leaks keep coming back, installing a new top is usually the better long-term answer.
